About the Production
Anton Chekhov’s tragicomedy follows the lives and loves of actors and writers in 19th-century Russia, bringing flawed, ordinary people to the foreground in an intimate story of art, longing, love, and endurance. This adaptation by Élise Hanson reverences Chekhov’s work while drawing out fresh vitality for modern audiences.
